Question self-refreshing png's in signatures (answered)

As I understand it these were killed a while back to keep the board speedy. With the proliferation of high speed internet I was wondering if this was still necessary?

Not sure what you mean by "self-refreshing" Do you mean externally linked?

If so, yes, we killed those, much like we killed most of our externally linked ads. We just can't trust other servers to provide good service, so you are required to upload your image here.

If you are referring to image size, we have limits on that as well, and yes, it is primarily due to internet speed... and PNGs are pretty heavy unless your image desperately needs both clarity AND transparency.

Help me understand exactly what it is you are wanting to do that you can't do.

:lol Sorry, I was just thinking about those gamercard banners that update periodically with your stats and crap - yeah I guess externally linked is what it is. I'll learn all the 'net lingo eventually. But like I said, no big deal, was just wondering.
