I did search for Seaview first before starting this thread and found only one
relevant thread from 2 years ago so though it might be worth asking again
if anyone knows of a place to get a good Seaview - ?

thanks-

There are some items here........

Fond memories of the Seaview and the Flying Sub kits growing up.
The show had its bad episodes though, long before the expression "jumped the shark" came along,
My father and I would joke about the "talking seaweed". The kind of episodes that told you the end was near on any show.

Depends what ya want to do with it... look at it or actually RC it... there are a few out there. What would Studio Scale be on this?

I am glad this thread is here... the Seaview is one of my favorite Sub Designs. The movie version will be joining my collection eventually. It would also be nice to have a 4 foot, ultra detailed paint job, Sea Quest.

As many have experienced,.. my memory is just plain bad..LOL.. so... the Flying Sub... I remember it being in the series, but not the movie... is this correct? As a kid, I had played with my little build up of that model for hours in my pool. LOL.

Rick Teskey has a very good kit for a 52" eight window (movie to 1st season TV) kit. He was working on a second season flying sub kit at one time.

What size are you looking for? Might be a better question. Static or RC?

The ultimate Seaview is the 104" finished model at

Thanks for the pointers - I'll check them out. I'm thinking just static, for display.

Kuhh - I think the Flying Sub joined the series in the 2nd season.

Studio scale would be 8-1/2 foot as this was the work-horse model for the run of the series. There were smaller scale models that showed up in the first season, the so called aquarium models.

One source of a high quality static model is Paul Lubliner's proposed 24" TV version seaview. Not available yet..............but on the drawing board.

BTW, Paul is the number one Seaview expert and occasionaly posts on the hobbytalk board. If you can find a copy on ebay, an excellent source on the studio models is the old fanzine Seaview Soundings #3.

As this is a prop forum. Here's an pic of a copy of the prop blueprint as seen in Captain Crane's quarters that I have in my collection.
