Anyone know who is behind these newcomers?

Home | ScreenBid

Saw them mentioned here in regard to their upcoming Breaking Bad auction. I have never heard of them and would love to know more if anyone has any info on them.

Other than the lead lady has been on Antiques Roadshow and organizes something called the collectors lab not much. They have also pretty much copied VIP auctions system of selling, without using ebay (making it even harder to know if your bidding against a real person) and made a
"fan site" in the same vein of RPF pulse.

What is desirable is that several MPF members have tried matching the so called HERO items and they have shown to be not the one on screen.....just like the lost auction did in places.

As usual...and I pointed it out at the time....WHY would the studio give up hero stuff when its proven to be a valuable commodity for exhibition and displays, especially when they have 2 or 3 backups to sell.

Nuff said. Bid with caution....as with everything.

Oh....and this statement under the FAQ page of their site should be rewritten immediately unless they use the "get out of jail card" of its in his hand when he walks....not in closeup.

"What does “screen-used” mean?

ScreenBid only sells genuine, screen-used memorabilia. That means the items you buy were used — and shown — onscreen in a movie or television show. Because these items are the real thing, they have been handled. Some are gently used and are like new, while others have been knocked around. Any scratch, dent or imperfection on a ScreenBid item happened onset, and is evidence of authenticity."

As we all know a backup is precisely that.....if the hero is broken. Otherwise probably not used.

I have heard of Bill Block but not Dash. Will be interesting to see how yet another company in this area will pan out...

Wow. I don't know if that's a rookie mistake or intentional deceit. It is LUDICROUS to state that you know that a specific piece was 100% used on-screen without being able to either track its specific use on-set (unlikely) or show a screen-cap of that use. And to further state that any imperfections on a piece were made on-set is just plain asinine. Were they encased in bubble-wrap and placed in a sealed case when the actor was done with it? Damage could have happened in a hundred different ways once the cameras stopped rolling. It's simply impossible to know.

Totally agree.

Some things should match up easy, right? Did anybody try the cars, wheel chair, teddy bear, underwear stains? Things with easy marks & dings. I feel like when you're getting into clothes like the hazmat suits, those would be harder to screen match with the picture size being as small as they are.

Something seems off about Walter Whites yellow hazard suit. The hazard suits on the show had a white zipper going down the middle to the waist. The one shown does not. Anyone have a clue? I dont know if I am allowed to provide links to it or not.

The prices already so crazy! I know its selfish, but I was so sad when I heard a dj talking about this auction on the radio the other day, because that's when I knew so many more people would know about the auction. I hope one of you guys can grab something in-between the competition, because it's going to get brutal. Luckily the auction ends at noon on Monday when some people might be at work and can't get their final bid in.

Im starting to think alot of these bids on these items is bull crap. If I remember correctly earlier today the TUCO Grill was going for around 8,000 or more and now its back down to 2500. Whats the deal? Alot of the "bids" are not there anymore.

Could it be a lot of people were 'troll bidding' as a joke? I thought you had to have your credit card approved before bidding though?

Sounds like another auction company who may not be up there honesty wise. I know i don't trust some of those folks from antique roadshow, i mean the one host got busted for fraud.

The 24% buyers premium is disgusting, so I hope this company doesn't get more contracts with the studios. It will be the fans and collectors that get fleeced. They aren't even offering a nice glossy catalogue to justify that cost to us.

Preimer props has started their own auction on its site. It's the things from the studios ( so its preimers own shop items) that are being listed. Plus they have a 24% buyers premium as well. Wtf? You take offers, yet say no to 85% of listed price. and counter offer for only 10 bucks on 1k item...now this. Crack is wack

Anybody win anything?

My bank called me this morning and told me I had a fraud charge on my credit card. The same I card I had approved for screenbid. The first thing I thought was that it was from screenbid and the whole thing was a scam! It turned out not to be, and I had to get my card canceled. I took that as sign, anyway to save for up for another auction.

There were a couple things going low last time I looked, like Hanks shirts or a few of Walters shirts. But with the buyers extra fees, you're still pay a lot.

I managed to get a Vamanos Pest set of overalls - quit reasonable compared to most of the stuff that sold

Got my Vamonos Pest overalls yesterday and was pleased to discover they were Todd's screen used ones..
