I had a conversation with MOULDLIFE about foams a good 10-12 months ago, and whoever i spoke to mentioned the original dreds having string in them, and being a odd sort of foam. I didnt think anything more about it until you posted.

I wonder how they knew.

The movie dreads were most likely foam latex, like the bodies were.

What's that extra 'nub' -greeblie glued to the top rear left side of that P1 bio? I've never seen that on any other P1 before.

Polyfoam....a type you can't get anymore. Long discontinued.

Here are the auction pics of all the P1 dreads that were sold, various sizes:

My theory on the string is it was used to reinforce the foam of the dreads. I thought of a similar idea a while back of skinning the foam around a piece of string.
