The Smithsonian of Cinema would be something to see. I dont understand how WB, Disney, Universal and whomever else has tangible movie/cinema history sitting boxed up in a warehouse or houses. People would gladly pay a nominal admission fee or donation to check out some of this stuff. As many run down warehouses that I see, this would seem ideal for a small investment by the studios that own such great treasures. Seeing old BSG Vipers, TOS shuttles and BR Thunderfighters lose the battle against the elements, Im sorry to see there is not more of a movement to corral props and models more centrally.
Ive never been to the SCIENCE FICTION museum in Washington and DISNEY has been working on its archives only for the last 10 years. I was really surprised that LOL had the star trek auction, all those incredible models and prop pieces sold off like cattle. It was amazing to see it all in one place and disheartening to see it go, probably never to be seen again due to being in someone's private collection.
The nostalgia is there, is there no interest from the business world? Or is it just too much of a headache for this to happen?
