Screen Accurate Batman Begins Gauntlets for coofunkcurly

Ken is a freak. And I mean that in a good way. I think he could actually be a robot. Which explains his obsession with the Terminator franchise. :lol

Couldn't be happier with how this is looking. I can't even tell you guys the number of failed attempts I've had in trying to get someone to 3d model these. Wouldn't think it would be hard but the forearm shape proved to be almost impossible to replicate. Just so many different swoops and curves. Needed an accurate base and a remarkable eye for detail. Glad I found both. ;)

There may be some truth to that! ;) I've been discussing Terminator related things with him and his knowledge is vast and he's very detail oriented. I suspect that he's way up in Skynet's R & D division. :)

Who knows, maybe someday we'll see a cybernetic Batman?

More pics. This should arrive at Kev's doorstep any day now...

That looks absolultely flawless:love Thin fins are just plain bad ***** and very menacing. Can't wait to see it's twin. Any chance we'll see this in cold cast bronze? I even think a more silver metal powder would look great as well.

Very doubtful as cold casting these would be a nightmare not to mention expensive since materials here are a fair bit higher than in the US.

Thank you everyone for the kind words :)

Ken...truly amazing. Awesome work as usual :) Now how about that utility belt?... LOL

The belt is sitting on my workbench as we speak... and I'm very excited to get back to it. Will not be long from now ;)

Sorry to throw the thread off Ken....

What pray tell is that gorgeous bats statue in the bg??

Did you sculpt this?

Hi Steve and Romuald - there's a bit of a story behind that statue and I think it's important that I share more insight about it because there's been a lot of misunderstandings regarding it in the past...

The artistry and concept behind the sculpt is William Paquet, who btw is one of my favorite sculptors. He made the original sculpt/maquette at approx. 1:8 scale, which was then scaled down for the DC Direct - A Dark Winter's Knight Snow Globe many years ago. The statue you see in my pic is a 'copy' of William's original sculpt/maquette - not a recast, but a 'replica' if you will sculpted by another person. I do not know who sculpted it. Although similar in concept, there are differences between the one I have and William's. I purchased 3 copies of this statue many years ago. I made one for Robin Williams and kept the other 2 copies for myself. I also subsequently acquired the molds and intended to make a few copies for friends. Now at the time this all happened, I was under the impression that it was William's work. Bit surprised and disappointed to say the least when I found out later that they were not from him. This all happened a long time ago... and it was just recently when talking to William that I remembered about this statue and dug it up. Not one of William's but it was nicely done and I still like it very much. Sorry, long story but I didn't want to represent this piece as something it's not. I think there's just a very small handful of these among collectors... I've had the molds for about 6-7 years but never made use of them. I also think not all of them know the full story behind it.

Doable but besides cost, I think the fins should be cast in nothing other than rubber. They are way too fragile done in any type of hard resin.
