Scratchbuilt Wipeout Feisar ship (Round Two)

Oh yeah, that stuff looks really good. Thanks. Won't get paid til Tuesday, have to wait.

Your model looks like it could be a very early prototype in the wipeout world.
In fact, in the manual to the first game, they have a back story which really set it up and I always thought it could make a good movie if done right.
Basically, gas prices have risen to extreme highs, and for some reason the government have banned any work on anti-gravity vehicles.
But this one set of scientist work on it anyways. Paving the way for what becomes actual racing leagues.
Well, yours would work perfectly as the underground experiment.
Yes, I put too much thought in this.

Last night I wanted to get the tube in for the display stand. So I carefully drilled at an angle with a bigger bit at a time. Once I got to the bigger one, it caught the plastic and ripped the whole bottom part off and tore it a bit. Well, thankfully, I was able to fix it up, even found a corner that flew off and glued it back on.
It ended up fitting really well and left plenty room for the engine parts.

Heres a pencil holding it up. I really wanted the pole to be at this angle. I have a good idea of a base I'll build for it.
I also glued on the vents to the side. They look a little bit big, but with the wings on, they look better.

Been adding details on the engine, but not glued in yet. Heres a bunch of angles to see better.

I am very happy so far and glad I have far surpassed my first attempt....my fiance was like, see, you should be glad I stepped on it...I told her, back up woman, don't even want you near my room.........................ok, I didn't really say that.
She thinks I'm doing an awesome job.

Just bought the apoxie, so now to wait, then once I get it, will test it out first before attempting anything on the model.

Thanks. The colors in the game of Feisar are Yellow, blue and white, I just need to figure out where they will go to look good. I want to only lightly weather the outside and also print up a bunch of decals from the games itself and add all over.
I'm currently working on a base right now to hold it up. It will also have that paint scheme. I also want to have the words, FEISAR and the meaning, Federal European Industrial Science and Research under it on the base. I just found out the meaning like a week ago.

Heres the base. I added some weight, which was originally these parts I got that might have been used for detail, but they are metal. Therefore I didn't have a way to cut or trim them, plus theres really no room anywhere for them. So prefect weight.

I was at first going to make the sides on the top part straight up and down like the lower part, but thought it might look good to have them at a slant like the ship itself. Worked out.

I am thrilled about this build!! I've considered trying this but a lil scared. It's looking great!! Can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks. I was quite a bit scared at first, as I've really not attempted anything like this before. But I am so glad I tried. Its turning out better then I could have expected.

An easy way to add weight is to buy a tube of BB's and pour them into the area. Then lock them in place by pouring two-part epoxy over them. Also pretty cheap :)

Good. You can wear cheap rubber gloves if you prefer. While it's workable, it's water-soluble. After it cures, it can be sanded, painted, etc.

Glued a few pieces of styrene together and then when dry, I mixed a small amount of the apoxie and filled little bits in to get a feel for it. Yeah, I found a little water helped out a bunch. I then tried a small part on the model itself that needed filler on both sides. But it had to be just right as I is in plain view. It looks good to me. Starting to set already.
I think I'll try and get the thing together and fill in more parts and wait til tomorrow.

So heres the base, primed up and ready for paint. The apoxie worked out great, but boy did I have to sand the pee out of it.

Heres what I did the other night in photoshop to see how the paint should look and words.

I apoxied up the front of the nose, but I see I need to still add a bit more, as well as still get the ship together.

Thanks.

Got it glued together, then I realized, I totally forgot to put the engine in, which really had to go in first. Bit I was able to get it it, but I think its sticking out a tiny little more then it was meant to. I then added the wings, which I ended up doing a bit different then I was going to do. But I like it this way better.
Got a little glue on the seat, have to repaint that.

Been working on this like crazy. Got the air-brakes scribed in. The 2 air vents on the side that are made from posterboard were warping a little, so I cover them in styrene. Apoxie filled in places all over. Sanded, over and over. Primed it. Found more areas to sand. Primed again.....about 5 times later, I think I'm happy with it....and I still see little small parts that could use sanding...but I think I can cover that up with some of the decals.
My finger is sore from sanding.
There are parts that I wasn't even going to use the apoxie on, but I thought I'd try it, now I'm glad I did. Really gives is a smooth overall feel, like it should be.

Got the base painted, but had a little bleeding through the tape, so will have to see about fixing that up. Once fixed, its ready for the decals.

May I make a suggestion regarding the base?

Please forgive the crude Photoshoppery.

I actually do like that. I was decided if I would add the feisar logo, or the anti-gravity logo on it. But I think feisar would be better.
I'll probably leave off the type and F3600, as that was suppose to be from the earlier games. I think I'm not going to really say which year or league this would be from. I think the wipeout games span over like 200 years.

Right now I'm adding some more greeblies to the bottom. Almost forgot that part. Getting to excited to get it painted....haha.
Some of it could be the weapons. But I also want to make some rockets/missiles and add them up underneath it.
Then I still have to make the cockpit window.
