Scratch-Building a TOS Tricorder

Dude, you totally messed it up! You didn't make the removable data disk. Tell you what, send me that one and make yourself another! :lol

Seriously, that is one fine, beautiful piece you have built there.

Heh. How do you know that last disk isn't removable? :) (It isn't, in fact).

Thanks!

Thanks, guys! I appreciate your appreciation. I'm pleased with the result myself.

Just working on the final polish and assembly tonight.

A quick glamour shot with a couple of friends:

So, when are we going to see one with an ipod video installed?

That is some sweet eye candy, and me with a sweet tooth!

But seriously, you could hook that thing up to play videos, right?

You might do. I wanted the authentic prop replica look, on this one.

A few more glamour shots, taken in the unforgiving daylight. I'll be setting up to build another; if there's any criticisms you'd like to level, I would be glad to hear!

"You're in the desert, and you come across a tricorder laying on its back."

Cleverly disguised as an oscilliscope:

What do you think?

That TOTALLY sucks.

Because it is not in my collection. :sleep

Otherwise fantastic! :lol

I love how you have the head being able to swivel all the way around. At least one of the props did that.
