Scratch A-wing 1/18 scale

I started this over 2 years ago. Got the shape down and a few details and let it sit for a long time. Now it’s time to finish this so I can start my next model guilt free.
But now that I’m back into it, I’m reinvigorated. The pulled form canopy turned out really nice so I’m back on track.

I used a lid from a disposable salad container. It has a number 1 in the recirculate symbol. Heated in the oven and stretched over a buck made from epoxy sculpt.

Finally put some paint down. Lots of bleed through and corrections to make but at least I’m going forward. After I clean up the paint lines I need to get going on the cockpit. Good news is I made a decent casting of a head to use for the pilot. It was a Hallmark Star Trek Data ornament. The size was perfect. More to come.
