Scabbards for Uther and Arthur

For CONjuration 2018, my daughter and I dressed as Uther and Arthur from BBC's Merlin. Here's how we made scabbards:

Mark stations on the blade.




Cut strips of EVA foam, same as scabbard material, to fit around blade at gauging stations (hilt, mid, and tip).




Using gauge strips, lay-out and cut scabbard foam.




Wrap blade in plastic to protect against glue.




Wrap foam around blade; edge-glue at intervals with E6000.




Repeat until the entire seam is glued.
