2nd go around i didn't even get threw the waiting room everything sold out. But the first try i only got Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. I still need Saturday damn it lol, hopefully if possible i get lucky on ebay or some how score one for Saturday.

How did people do with badges? The site didn't crash this year, but the random picking of who gets to buy badges seems to have left a lot of people I know out.

Yup. Same that I heard directly from a few I know that ended up waiting for an hour and 1/2 till it sold out. No badges for them either. :cry

Gaslamp area outside the convention is like an expanded part of SD comic con. that was the temporary solution they have taught of while waiting for the convention center gets expanded. it almost feels like "Comic con city" Bigger tv show props and exhibits are outside, lots of vendors etc.. It would probably take you almost all day to just go around the areas covered by comic con outside the convention.

if you really want in, and you dont have a badge ...I also see lots of actual attendees selling some of their day badges that they won't be using for a decent price, just make sure you avoid ticket scalpers who try to overprice badges....

My friends brother let his daughter use his badge for Sunday a couple years ago as he had been doing for ages.
They actually caught her and were talking about banning them both from going but let them off in the end. Total over reaction
and freaked her out.
So obviously take precautions if you go this angle.

yeah, they have markers to distinguish a juinior badge and a male/female badge so those who wants to risk it, I think its better to get and adult badge with your right gender..

and sellers beware of scalpers who would resell your badges for a much higher price... normally Con officials are on a lookout for those, and ban those badges.. they also raise a red flag on owners of badges reported "lost"... If you have day badges that you will not be using, its probably better to sell it here to members who were not able to avail of con passes

I just need a badge for my girl to get in on Fridays and Saturday...if anyone can help...I have no problem in paying...

As much as it pains me, after we will have flown to the US from Oz partly to attend, and missing out on tickets, I'm going to have to take a punt on buying a ticket there on the day :cry
Any suggestions? Over priced tickets won't worry at all

Sorry to hear.. Your probably going to shell out at least $150 per day.. Maybe more on the peak days which is friday and saturday.. Its well worth your trip though .. Comic con plus the finest city in the US.. Were you able to book a hotel already? I think the ones in downtown SD are now fully booked

Everything is booked downtown, unless you want to pay $900 to $1100 a Night lol. Since i looked over 12 hotels near by and nothing.

Yeah crazydog500.. I also check how it was even before the tickets sales and its pretty much like you said.. I think people start booking as
soon as the dates of comic con comes out
Thanks to shuttle service and the trolley, they can always try to get hotels out of downtown SD..

Downtown is a must though all the fun there. Probably will figure something out, i wonder if the rooms were cheaper right when they went up or do you still have the pay the high price couple months back.

Wearing a Spidey suit is no fun when your hotel is pretty far lol

normally there are dozens of people selling badges....just make sure you get one of the same sex and age...do not give them money unless they have their badge in hand...

and yikes....$1000 for 2 nights in san diego....thankfully, my hotel was free...i can never see myself paying that much for a hotel unless it was in a different state and a 5 star hotel...i would never consider san diego the finest city in the usa....just sucks how they skyrocket their hotel rooms the week of con....its highway robbery
