Salvage 1 ship

There was a really small kit available a few years ago, but I always wanted to see a bigger one available.

Probably should be clarified that the ship referred to is the "Vulture", which featured in the Andy Griffth TV show "Salvage 1" in the Seventies.

The Vulture design, supposedly cobbled together from junk and old NASA hardware, was intended to fly to the Moon to salvage expensive hardware left there by the Apollo landings! :lol

This premise totally invalidates itself... since if a little tin can like the Vulture were capable of reaching the moon, it wouldn't have been necessary to build the giant Saturn V rocket in the first place. :rolleyes

Oh, hush! It was more fun than "Astronaut Farmer"! (and had much cooler theme music!) :p

Monohydrozine makes it possible ;)

I know I watched this show but I can only remember one episode. They had to thether to and tow a huge iceberg that was drifting toward New York.

I used to watch this show... I'd love to see the pilot episode again. I'm sure the series episodes probably don't hold up to today's standards! LOL

I don't remember many episodes either-- one that stands out was a rescue mission in space of some sort-- they used fire extinguishers to propel themselves from one ship to the other during and EVA.

I don't remember much but I think there was a robot too, which looked very similar to Twiki from Buck Rogers.

or was that really Buck Rogers?:unsure
