Ryan Gosling to star in Logans Run?

Whew! I thought that said Ryan Renolds at first. Didn't Michael Bay already do Logans run but packaged it as THE ISLAND?

21 never made cense to me, 30 works much better.
That's the mindset that ruined the previous film adaptation. :thumbsdown

The novel was written in the 1960s & was inspired by the youth counter-culture movement of the time, the whole "you can't trust adults" mentality. William F. Nolan & George Clayton Johnson carried that way of thinking to its ultimate extreme in their novel.

The new movie adaptation's been stuck in Development Hell for over a decade. In the meantime, Bluewater Productions is in the middle of producing a new graphic novel adaptation of the novel, and unlike Aircel's Adults Only adaptation from 20 years ago, this one's suitable for most audiences.

Volume 1, called Logan's Run: Last Day is available NOW at comic shops & better bookstores. I'm reading that to satisfy my desire to see the story visually. :)

21 ruins the suspension of disbelief for me. A massive culture could not be created or sustained without at least some maturity. The decay would be much worse then the book describes with 21 as the cut off age. Logan's seasoned cynical attitude also does not flow very well for a 21 yo. The book just does not work for me with 21 as the age of expiration. This of course is my opinion. I love the book, but as I read it I change the age to 30.

I also want to add that as ages extend and people are considered in there prime must longer and older then they were in the 60s. The movie may not
strike right with todays movie goers. Again just my opinion.

You are making too much sense with this opinion...stop it! :lol

As long as the message that youth only based culture is bad news.
Logan's Run is kind of a flip of the bird to that whole don't trust anyone over 30 hippie battlecry.

Man, I was really hoping for a solid adaptation of the book this time around.
Hadn't heard about the new GN, thanks for mentioning, Jack T Chance.

You want wacky?!?!?!

Sit down with George Clayton Johnson and ask him about HIS sequel to Logan's Run.

WHEW!!!!

Talk about OUT THERE!!!!

I've seen interviews with him and I love old Hippies but Man George is out there past Pluto! :lol

No problem. :)

I just wish Bluewater Productions would tell us when the next volume comes out. The Logan's Run page on their website hasn't been updated in awhile... but their news page has been updated to let people know to be sure and pick up their Justin Bieber and Charlie Sheen comics.

I sat down for drinks with them at a bar in Seattle last year and 'wow'....fun guys but definitely stuck in the 60's.
