Seems whenever FB slows down it's because of a hack attempt. Makes me wonder if same thing happened when the RPF slowed down a couple of weeks ago, then it got hacked.

I am no expert...just wondering.

It's only slow when I first come on, after a moment or 2 it starts working fine as long as I don't close firefox.

Every time I open it, the screen is suddenly covered in flies, and a voice shrieks "GET OUT!!"

Seriously though, it does seem to be running slow in opening. It could be the net here where I'm at though. It's not the speediest service.

Godaddy, our service provider, is having a problem right now. They are working on it but don't have an estimated resolution time yet.

i noticed once on the bottom left of my screen where it says
"waiting for www.therpf.com"
it said
"waiting for mystatus.skype.com"

SEE! it did it as it was loading my post!

Actually there is something on the page that is related to Skype. It's one of the "send a message via" icons located under Art's avatar... that's all, nothing strange, nothing sinister. :)

There are a number of those types of icons and since they normally show up instantaneously, you never see the link in the status bar, but since Godaddy is/was having issues, the page would pause at random loading points for no particular reason.

lol, whew, i was running all sorts of spyware and av scans because of that.

It would be nice if there was a way we could see the board (network?) status. I can only imagine when there is a problem somewhere, all the people trying to log in/connect doesn't help the situation.

Man I thought it was my pc too. I've been stressing about it all day at work as I was on here this morning. Now I come home and see this thread and I'm happy. I'm very cautious these days with spyware and malware and lately have been very happy with my anti virus programs. For a second I thought I was wrong.
