ROTS Vader Helmet Dome Attachment

Just a feeler to see if there is anyone out there that might be able to answer a question about the red headed step child - "ROTS Vader".

Most of us are familiar with the Master Replicas dome attachment. But I've never found anything on the screen used attachment method. I was under the impression that it was very different from MR's. Anyone have reference for this?
