Hi can anyone who has tried to find the right camera for the Vader reveal please list the cameras they have found that don't have the right eyes please.
I know that on of the eyes was the yashica d camera but the other remains a mystery.
So I thought it would be a good idea for you guys who have tried finding it to list the cameras that you have found don't have the correct eyes so we can cross them off the list and stop wasting money. :lol

I have just opened a Lubitel 166B and it isn't it!:cry
Mark.

I bought off ebay in the new year a Yashica Minister-D

I think I've listed this in another of the reveal threads around here somewhere but again for clarity:

The left side eyepiece is from the Yashica D which came in several vintages.

I'd love to be able to tell you exactly which one it is but what I can tell you about that is I only ever saw one model of the one that had the precise shutter and that's the one I have. Of course, I stopped the earnest search for it after I got it so another may have surfaced on ebay but in the times I've looked just for the heck of it, I have not seen another just like it. The shutter itself is a Copal MXV which, again, are in all Yashica D's. A certain tell on the Yashica D's is that they had different "Y" emblems on their various vintages; this specific one was pretty different from all the rest in that it almost looks like a funky, upper-case cursive "F". I still have the pamphlet from the camera but I don't spot any copyright with the year or such.

The right side shutter comes from the Seagull family of TLR's.

I haven't gotten the exact one of these yet but it's most definitely the same shutter, just a different detail on the self-timer cover

LOL! Thanks for bringint this up. I've had a Seagull TLR lying in a box for nearly five years! I originally bought it to get a knob for Luke's macrobinoculars.

I just stripped the shutter out and it is almost the same as yours but has a rounded detail there by the red arrow instead of a squared one. I might even have a go at filling that detail in.

Hey Marcus,

Glad it helped. :) Can you post a pic? I'd love to see the difference. I've had what seems like dozens of these things along with the Kalimar Reflex (which has the identical shutter) but mine have all been alike...

And for the left side Copal MXV shutter, here's a shot of the Yashica D owner's manual that has the distinctive "Y" emblem that was on the camera I got:

I'm afraid I already filled the detail in and painted it, so I Photoshopped your picture to show what it looked like. Basically the same hole but round instead of squared with rounded corners.

I had a Chinese-speaking member here enquiring into this at the Seagull factory recently but I've heard nothing back from him. The real one of these has got be out there somewhere...:wacko:wacko
