Roman Legatus Armor

Just thought I would share a commissioned suit of roman armor I had made. I looked around at a couple of talented artist and went with Matt from Mpfilmcraft. The decision was based on Matt putting up with me and going with the changes as I developed my sense of what I wanted. Matt was great to work with and sent alot of progress pics, worked with me through decisions and changes as he worked the leather.

I started wanting a set of armor after seeing Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The armor that Glaber wore was awesome. That was the orginal idea. Then, I watched the Rome series and made some adjustments to the armor. Matt did a great job guiding me through the process.

Anyway, here are the pics. And feedback is welcome...

Thanks Matt for all the hard work and putting up with me....

Thanks again Matt!

Pretty tasty. I have admired Matt's stuff for years.

Now, be a gentleman and help that young lady up.

Cheers

haha, that is my daughter. She is a very good sport. I had seen some do that in the series Rome. They used the Legion soldiers, slaves and plebs to get on/off horses. She is also a costumer and she has Ren/Biker Scout costumes.

Very nice, a good set of musculata is something that I've been wanting for a long time. Once of these days I might try making my own by modding a set of cheap of plastic musulata that I plan on using as a base/mold.

Many Legates would have been granted a phalerae or two, maybe an armband or a corona. Some were purely political animals, but others were right up there in the front lines.

Also Romans loved to decorate everything and personalize their gear as much as possible, adding pictures of your family deities etc ...

Other than that it looks amazing !

Awesome set you have there and your daughter is a good sport! :lol

(y)thumbsupWOW! Ral, that turned out GREAT!:love

Now I got the itch.

However, If "I" try that kind of pic with my wife, I will need more than a gladius for protection. :lol
