Rocketeer Reboot still in the works? Discuss

About a Year ago, it was said that Disney had decided to Greenlight reboots on both The Rocketeer and Condor man.
I dont recall this ever being shot down as a rumor. Now With Disneys Current purchase of Lucasfilm, Do you think they will continue following up on The Rocketeer? The last Sci-Fi movie they tried was not much of a hit ( John Carter) and now that They have Star Wars, they dont need to spend money on a movie to get the Sci Fi Audience (or so they may think) A similar case has been pleaded regarding any chance of the Monkey Island movie being revived (though not many really had hopes for that) due to the popularity of Pirates of the Caribbean, because they dont need to fund any kind of competition for their already popular Pirates franchise.

Opinions? Thoughts? :confused

I see no reason to reboot the rocketeer. In my opinion, It's not a very iconic film......and the original is still pretty awesome.

With Marvel under Disney control, there's no reason they'd reboot The Rocketeer that I can think of. It might be a considered a classic or a fave in RPF circles - but, I'd wager we're a very, very, very small minority.

While Rebooting it doesnt seem to have any real benefit for Disney, Personally I wouldnt mind it. The original film is one of my all time favorites, but seeing more rocketeer is always a plus for me. I guess after the anniversary and seeing how well IDWs new comics were being revieved, Disney thought It was time to revisit it. Now as far As I know it is certain that in August of last year, The project was definitely being worked on. But after all thats happened, and with no news for a year, I think it would be safe to assume It may have been bunked. But it is a bit disapointing. I would have liked to see some Rocketeer in WWII on the big screen.
