Robs Helmet finished... finally

Well... I finally finished it. After joining the Lair in '03, and taking in everything the board had to offer, I knew that one day I had to sculpt up something of my own. So I did a variant of the helmet in Predator 2. Now, I know I'm no Steve Wang, John Rosengrant, Shane Mahan, Matt Rose, Bruce Spaulding Fuller, Pete Murphy, Pete Mander, Dan Bravo, but I did what I could.

So here it is, my first sculpt -

I'm still kind of experimenting with the paint, so if it looks odd that's why. I am quite happy with how it all turned out.

What do you all think?

Thanks for the reply D!! Yeah, there will be more "professional" looking pics from different angles. I just wanted to get it out there and let it be known that I was infact done with it.

Grrrreat !!!!!! job on the bio dude!!! nice shape great paint job. I like the extremely beaten up oxidation look to it. let's see more pictures from
different angles...

Rob you know I thought this would turn out well from the off...Been a long time coming but the wait's been worht it bro' kudos on a cracking bio and an awesome paint up. Love the patina on this thing. Cool stuff.

Aboot fooking time! I'm glad you finally posted pics for everyone to see because now they can tell you the same thing I have been telling you from the beginning - its bloody awesome! I am so proud of what you've accomplished here Rob. Thats one helluva Bio. Can't wait for more pics from different angles because it has so many cool curves on it. The lines are well thought out and perfect. The paint is hard to make out, but it looks like you just pulled that from 20,000 leagues under the sea. DAMN! Again Rob, I commend you on a job well done!

Don't "experiment" with the paint much more... that's about perfect in my opinion. Looks like something someone found on an archeological dig... Looks very old. I love it. Give us some more pix please.

Have to say for a first sculpt..it doesnt look like a first sculpt..good stuff man:)Paint job looks savage too

Okay. So this has indeed taken ***KIN ages . But Rob. You've done yourself proud. The Bio looks stonking and despite your reservations on the paintwork I for one thinks it looks GREAT! This is a quality piece that anyone would want to add to their collection. Oh and one more thing.......Can we have some more pics of it??
So now that this one is done, what are you going to sculpt next???

now that is a paint job. The patina looks incredible. I'm woking on some patina stuff right now. I can't say it eough. That looks stunning.

Rob---
don't sweat the time it took, I know all about long development time......especially when it's a labor of love.
Looks great, can't wait to see some other angles--SHWEEET!
Here's a thought---Maybe during the paint devopment phase, you could photograph the bio and bring it into Photoshop where you could experiment with different paint schemes, etc. before you actually paint it.
