Here is the first batch of pictures of the Cyclone costume at its debut at DragonCon.

I won Best Novice in the Masquerade costume contest - there were 60 entries and what looked like about 3000 people in the audience.

Kari Byron and Grant Imahara from Mythbusters were the emcees... and I was exhausted by the time it was over so that's why I look goofy in some of the pics...

If you're interested, the project page for the costume on my site is:

Excellent work, and congrats!

Can't wait to see your work on the final helmet (if you still plan to do it). :)

Magnificent piece of work! Congratulations on finishing that so quickly.

How was it walking around with it?

Really awesome. That is probably the best mecha-costume work I have ever seen, period. Great job on a cool subject.

AWESOME! I wish I could have seen the whole thing in person... Oh! And congrats on the win! You definitely deserved it. :)

Amazing. So when will Starscream be done...

Heh.

I'll start on Starscream after:

We get the Rebel pilot helmets pulled.
I get the router table done.
I get all the new accessories for R2 installed.
I get started on the Falcon computer console.
I get my basement cleaned out to make room for the above projects.
We finish the desert skiff for the holiday parades.
I get the foundation footings poured for the 1:1 Falcon.

Chris,

So you're saying you'll start that project about the same time I FINALLY make progress on my R2 ... ;)

Congrats on an awesome suit (and the R2's great as well).
