But it is funny since Robocop wasn't even filmed in Detroit.
I've heard of crazier ideas, there is statue of Frank Lloyd Wright in downtown Chandler AZ. There were a lot of proposals, but nothing of Wright's stands today.
I think it's nuts, Detroit has a lot of bigger problems. But if it makes people happy, so be it.
I have to wonder how long is it going to be before someone steals it.
And recasts show up on e-bay.
But it is funny since Robocop wasn't even filmed in Detroit.

Shouldn't New Jersey have a statue of Dr. Sidney Zweibel?
I can't find anything on it at the moment, but I believe I read that Weller used to be a trick shooter (or at least a serious student of gun-twirling).

And here it is! If you see a tenth doctor in the general vacinity around any given halloween, it may well be me.
There was a bit of back and forth about building it, apparently. Not everyone was happy with the idea of a "cartoon witch" being there - makes sense, given the 'orrible things that happened in Salem. Still, it's a fun town now, and the wiccan community seems to have reclaimed it, so I think the statue is perfect for the place.
And here it is! If you see a tenth doctor in the general vacinity around any given halloween, it may well be me.

This Weller video was actually posted here like a year ago, and parts of it made it to channel 4 or 7...but thanks for posting it again Outlander...I forgot all about it. Hilarious.

Its an awesome sculpt, but I can't get over the pose...it's kinda "meh" for a statue

It's acceptable as a "Guardian Looking to the Future" pose. 
I think we all kind of wanted the "Your move, creep!" with the Auto-9, but that isn't "correct" for public display (negative connotations: crime still rampant, society in decline etc.).
I think anything short of a curtsey is ok - as long as the statue goes up! :lol
