Robin Williams Jacket in "August Rush"

Ever since I saw the trailer for August Rush, I fell in love with the leather jacket Robin Williams is wearing for most of it. (yea yea, he took his cues from Bono, but the jacket is cool to me)

Does anyone have any leads or ideas on this jacket? I would love to get my hands on something very similar. I am sure it was made for production, ut I thought I would put it out there.

I always thought Bono looked like Robin Williams.... Put some bug-eyed glasses on Robin and you couldn't tell them apart now.

The other day I was looking through a Robb Report Motorcycling(with a bike called Notorious on the cover). There was an advertisement or article, I can't remember which, for Gianfranco Ferre that had a brown leather blazer with the same kind of embroidery. May be a possibility.

Finally saw this jacket you referred to in the RR Mag, its a neat jacket but not really close, and probably costs a fortune.

Yeah, that's a nice coat & like you said, most likely a custom job.
You could get something like the two-tone blazer on this page and glue a dark yoke panel over the light parts with a cut-out (inlay) design..then do a little weathering..

Great site, and the 3 button blazer and the heavy duty blazer fit the bill better. robins jacket is a 3 button, with tuckable front pocket flaps.

Now for $79, I could order two jackets, use one for material and just get my own tan for underneath, and weather...hmmmm.

Hate to dig up a thread but FilmJackets just had a breakthrough on A LOT of movies including this one. I don't know if this particular jacket is made by this company but he made jackets for this movie.

I know this thread is like a billion years old but just in case anyone wanted to know still, the jacket Robin WIlliams wore was made by Ralph Lauren. It's very rare now but there is one for sale for $600 on ebay right now. I loved that jacket as well and stumbled upon this thread, I'd buy it but it isn't my size.
