Been a lurker for a while, this is my first project post.

Prince of Thieves has been one of my favorite movies since I can remember, and I have always wanted a cross medallion.

After reading this post: http://www.therpf.com/f77/stripped-...-hood-prince-thieves-pewter-medallion-100397/ (Thank you Pete SSS) I finally decided to put some time into it and make my own.

Yesterday, I built a 3d model using this: ref.jpg as a reference.

I decided to go a little more modern and clean. You can check it out here: https://myhub.autodesk360.com/ue29c4e0f/shares/public/SHabee1QT1a327cf2b7abb8cd2a65d396fb8

Missing the gold wire winding and the gem, I'll add later.

I'm going to make another version with a sprue and some vents to lost wax cast.

I was thinking about using my shapeoko to CNC the design but it will be tough. I most likely will experiment with doing that but not use for the final.

My co-worker has a 3d printer and is willing to print me a couple for a couple for the cost of mats.

I built my own forge and have the stuff to preform lost wax castings.
I want to cast in silver, with solid gold or plated wire. It will be expensive but AWESOME.

Hopefully I can finish this project. I have an awful habit of starting and never finishing. Posting on here (hopefully) will give me enough encouragement to complete it.

Please leave me some feedback on what you think about my version on the medallion. :)

Thank you for reading!

I got the first print today! Looks good, its a little smaller than the actual prop, but its what I wanted. It will save mats at the end.
Its a little warped, the right lifts up a little, so it rocks, but I am not going to fuss about it. Once I cast in wax, it'll be easier to fix and flatten.

The circle is a little high, but I think it looks fine.

Next steps will be to smooth and mold.

Thanks!
