RIP Ralph Emery

I recall my father having the Ralph Emery Show on daily, back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I wasn’t into country music when it came on, but I would watch it for the “co-host” puppet: Shotgun Red. I grew to enjoy the show over time and started to like and respect some of the music, all because of that show.

Growing up here in NC, with a dad who was a truck driver, Ralph was a staple in the home. Whether watching his syndicated shows or hearing a show on the radio.

To give an idea of how respected & integral to country music, as I heard one tribute say, he was to country music what Dick Clark was to rock.

I appreciate the memories, sir. RIP
