RIP Macho Man

I'm not even a wrestling fan and I knew who he was!

It was impossible not to know... He was that huge in the 1980s and maintained popularity long after his WW(E)F glory days.

IF you looked or listened, he continued popping up all over the place. He did the "Slim Jim" commercials, yes, (and I heard a funny story of him farting all night as a guest in a radio personality's condo --- too many Slim Jim's that day! LOL), but occasionally he did voiceover. I know he voiced an intergalactic wrestling champion on an episode of the "Dial M for Monkey" segment on "Dexter's Laboratory" on Cartoon Network.

Whether you considered him a great wrestling entertainer or a guy goofing off and making good money doing it,, he was definitely an icon!

RIP, Macho Man! May St. Peter challenge you to arm-wrestling before you enter through the "Pearly Gates," or may you spit in Lucifer's eye before taking a refreshing lava bath in Hades!
You were wrestling entertainment's Achilles!

He, among the numerous others of the 80s, made watching wrestling fun before it got all stupid in the 90s and turned 100% soap opera.

Randy Macho Man Savage was an absolute legend in the business & he cut amazing promos.
His match with Ricky The Dragon Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3 is an all time classic.

I am quite sure that he has been an inspiration for many wrestlers that are currently wrestling & he should have been inducted into the hall of fame many years ago.

I am sure that he is chilling out with Miss Elizabeth right now & having a cockail.:angel
Cheers to the Macho Man & RIP.

Preach it Brother! :thumbsup

That was easily one of the greatest showdowns I had ever seen in wrestling!

This is such sad news. :(

Macho Man was one of my favourite villain wrestlers back in the late 80s. The WWF was in its heyday back then. I totally agree that he was one of the founders making wrestling what it is today.

I will always remember him as one of the greatest Intercontinental Heavyweight Champions---

This is how I remember him. Clutching that title belt as if no one had held it before him, and no one would after. Sure he went on to become the World Heavyweight Champion when Hogan took a hiatus. Sure he left for the WCW. He will always be the IC champion to me.

And here is a classic Macho Man interview-

I loved that belt so much I bought my own replica when I could:

Damn... I wish I could have met him. Here's to you Macho Man!

OH! YEAH!

R.I.P. Randy Poffo

Didn't see anything about this doing a search.

RIP Macho Man Randy Savage

Maybe wrestling has lost a lot of its former glory, but I'm not ashamed to say that as a kid It was one of my favorite things.

And the Macho Man was top of my list!

Rest in Peace Randy.

Re: R.I.P. Randy Poffo

Ahhh... did not search the movie/entertainment forum. Keep forgetting about that part of the board. lol.

Sorry Mods!

He Had a Quick wit too. I remember he was on I think Letterman, and was asked -
"When was the last time you had a good cry?"
He thinks and replies -
"Ooooohhh about the time I realized I could never have babies."
It took me 15 minutes to be able to breathe again.

Heart attack, scabies, freaking ringworm for all it matters...

He died knowing he nailed Elizabeth on more than one occassion, that would be enough to make me smile, even in death...

my family had a condo next to his on treasure island for awhile and i got to meet up on several different occasions. the guy was really a great guy. he worked out quite often and seemed to have a great way of life... he will be missed.
