RIP Ernest Borgnine.

First Andy now another icon gone. :(

From heavies to lovable every day joes he could play them all.

I still can't figure out whose side he is really on in Ice Station Zebra.

"Who would want a doll of Ernie Borgnine?"--Johnny Carson, while examining a 12" Black Hole figure.

RIP Marty (and SO many others)

Another fine actor leaving us. From what I'd seen of him recently, I would have bet on him outliving Jan Michael Vincent...

Awwwwee....this really makes me sad. Ernie was 95 years old and still working. He had one of those million dollar smiles and a laugh that you could never forget.

He died 7/8/12 of kidney failure.

...one of the longest working and most memorable actors in Hollywood is now gone...

...he will most certainly be missed.

Re: RIP - Ernest Borgnine

He definately will me missed, he had such an energetic presence that just seemed so contagious . Going to watch Airwolf now.

:cry

Everyone I watched on TV growing up is dying! It ain't fair....

My Dad once told me, "You know you're getting old when your heroes begin to die." That's just a fact of life. Everyone that is born dies. But we shouldn't be sad that they go. We should be happy that they lived and existed.

Re: RIP - Ernest Borgnine

Well done ernie, in the uk we say he had a good innings to make 95.

95 wow! A good long life. Not a McHale's Navy fan at all, but I always liked this guy as a great character actor. Nothing flashy, but solid every time out even in small roles like in The Dirty Dozen.

As much The Wild Bunch is a great film in itself, I give Borgnine props for playing a character that can be construed as gay and in love his friend, Pike (William Holden). No tough guy actor would touch anything like this back in the day, so this truly was brave.

I think he still was acting up until a fews years ago. How old is RED?

95!?! Wow! :eek

A great, charismatic man! Loved him in every role I saw him do- even his role in "The Black Hole."

Goodbye Cabbie. Thanks for the memories. :thumbsup
