Ridley Scott Prometheus: NOT the Alien Prequel Details

Don't know why my post didn't show up, but that's pretty cool news. I liked No Country for Old Men and it's great seeing an actor like Fassbender, having success and forwarding their career. :) Hope this project comes through with all the suspected players... Worries me a little on the quickness of it all, but I'll be keeping an eye on this. Thanks for sharing.

I myself am surprised by the lack of news regarding Prometheus (HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU WILLIE!). I did get a kick out of the title-less trailer.

I miss Willie's posts, always brings good news and something to look at, C'mon Ridley give Willie something to show us?

I miss my posts too, lol... Not a lot of info at the moment - really just the calm before the storm. I know NECA had a Prometheus banner at Toy Fair, and that Hot Toys is working on larger scale figures from the film. Not really news, but a morsel of info on the filming locations here:

Oh, I also heard James Cameron directed an epic 7 minute long post-credit sequence, but it's probably BS.*

*is BS.

for whatever its worth, some excerpts from wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_(film)

Dan O'Bannon had made a science fiction comedy film with director John Carpenter and concept artist Ron Cobb entitled Dark Star.[14] The film included an alien which had been created using a spray-painted beach ball, and the experience left O'Bannon "really wanting to do an alien that looked real."[14][15] A few years later he began working on a similar story that would focus more on horror: "I knew I wanted to do a scary movie on a spaceship with a small number of astronauts", he later recalled, "Dark Star as a horror movie instead of a comedy."

There you have it...thanks for that. Never seen this quote before.

Not showing for me, maybe region-locked on IMDB?

At any rate, the international versions are the same as the one that was released here in the States a couple months ago. To my knowledge (and every other Prometheus fan site out there), there is no new trailer, and no indication of when the final trailer will be released, although my money's on sometime in March.

Jedi2016, you in the US? I got it to work for me. It is very rare of me to say this about a modern movie but I want to see this.

Could be my adblocker. I haven't heard about any new trailer, though. The one UK trailer I found on YouTube from today is the same one I've already got.

Prometheus really will stun people when it comes out ,make no mistake about it. Its projected to be this years Avatar in terms of technical achievement and box office. The 3d cameras used to shot this have moved on massively since those days and remember, this has been done in realtime ,on real sets built on a massive scale with real actors. The scant feedback on shot footage and the finished digital print should leave you in no doubt that you will have never have seen anything like it. The sense of authenticity wil be dramatic and utterly original. This is Ridleys piece de resistance and he means to make this landmark cinema.
Nobody, and I mean nobody with a grain of sense in the film industry will risk breaking the confidentiallity clauses before this film is released. The penalties are just too big both financial and in career terms. Even the merchandising licences are being tightly controled so that nothing is available until after the film is released.
Its now only a 100 odd days away (say the end of May and it feels closer!) and I have to say there is no other film I am looking forward to with as much hope or anticipation as this one. I can watch Alien or Bladerunner, thirty odd years after I first saw them and they both never fail to make me feel like I'm looking at a future world I could believe might exist. I don't doubt for a moment this film will make me do the same.

Wow, i just re-read that with Rocky music in the background and then wanted to go and punch Spielberg in the face... and i like him. Getting excited.

Now im a 3D virgin, lucky me, whats better 3D or 3D-IMAX? I have access to both. Any advice?
