Ridley Scott Prometheus: NOT the Alien Prequel Details

Also, could this be him in the wheel chair?

MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD...

Wheelchair guy is a key member of the Prometheus' crew.

The big, bald dude glimpsed alongside the Jockey's chair is in fact an "Engineer." No doubt this will disappoint some folks, but despite the generally humanoid physique these guys are quite creepy and intimidating when seen up close.

As for the so-called "derelict" shown in the teaser, it's not supposed to be the same vessel found in the original ALIEN.

It would be nice to have a spoiler box around anything.

That is the most awesome trailer I have seen in forever! I've watched it about a dozen times. I havent done that with a trailer since Episode 1. I am so stoked for this film.

Frak The dark knight.

The trailer looks awesome, but a bit too familiar. I get the vibe that this isn't so much a prequel, but a remake.

That is a bit disappointing, Carson. Ever since first seeing ALIEN I had always imagined the Jockey's remains as a skeleton and was hoping o see them in all their bizarre, huge glory in this film.

Great screen caps, Karl!

from what ive been reading in this about the space jokey and how it now may be a suit, you all forget one thing shown in alien.

he has got a hole in his chest with the ribs bent outward, ie chestburster. ridley scot said the xenomorph as we know it would not be in the film, but giger had redisnged a precurrsor to the xeno. im wondering if we see a space jokey form of the xeno. may also explain the guy who gets his helmet covered in acid (blood)
also the room with the space jokey chair shows pods in it ill agree, no such pods shown in the ALIEN space jokey room

It looks like that ship takes a hit, careens down to the planet, lands on it's butt, then tips over? You can see smoke coming out of the area where it took a hit...

Just watched the 1080 seven or eight times on a 40" Hi Def screen. If the movie bites, it'll still make a great blu-ray demo disk :eek

That's my "excuse" for owning the Speed Racer movie. Although the true reason is that I love every brightly colored, cheesy moment of it.

I'm curious about some of the design choices in that room. Notice the walls. They're just carved shapes now, the "bones" used by Giger for the original are gone.

I've often wondered where people get the idea that the ship flies with the prongs facing forward. I've always gotten the impression it was the other way around.

I'm actually going to be kind of pissed if I had it wrong all these years.

Well, until we see more footage from the film, we won't know it's ass from a hole in the ground :lol but I guess I just like the idea of it flying prongs forward.

Look in the trailer at the shot where it is airborne, and a section is "exploding"- there appears to be a big honking engine exhaust port on what I am calling the butt.
