Ridley Scott Prometheus: NOT the Alien Prequel Details

Sure, he probably is transforming. I was thinking about the acid burns because of the condition of his suit, and he has a big black mark on his cheek, and because in one of the teaser teasers (I have not watched the leaked one) we see a helmet that looks to be melting.

I would rather think he was burned by a flamethrower...

Oh, he doesn't look good at all.

Rodney, I'm doing the exact same thing. Squee-ing like a girly girl over each new still or bit of footage. Squeeze out every last drop of enjoyment from the anticipation while it lasts, eh? Just don't be crushed if the film turns out to suck horribly.

Scott DOES do masterful anticipation. It's an experience in its own right.

Suck Horribly? I do not acknowledge that as even a slight possibility. I am already more entertained by the pics in this thread than I have been by any movie in a long time.
I am not a hater. I like most movies, even ones that others cant stand. I just prefer to consider some movies as being far superior to others.

I am trying to think back to the last time a TRULY GREAT sci-fi film was released. I am drawing a blank. Anyone?

Dark Knight, Hobbit...ok. Prometheus...OH YES. This is what I'm looking forward to the most next year. Love what we've been seeing/hearing so far.

Also the aforementioned new WY logo is just "Weyland Corp" - no Yutani. Interesting.

I think I recall hearing about this shot in an interview, and reading about a possible transformation in this thread, just curious to know if it would change any thoughts if that's not a human to begin with but the android?

Almost there (though its not like I haven't watched the slowed down versions of the trailer a dozen times already). The human ship shown is the "Magellan" . The four engines appear to swivel like a jump jet,so I'd guess its like the Nostromo, the landing craft part of the much bigger ship.

The more I see of Vickers the more I think she looks like a female counter point to David ,so is she a company android as well? Certainly there are a lot of people looking "changed" or in the process of being so in these clips so you can take your pick.

I also don't think the alien ship we think is the derelict IS the derelict, not if this is all taking place on one planet. The huge mountain range with snow on it couldn't be the original planetoid from Alien, its just too large. Also the jockey ship appears to be subtle different from the original, though it could just be the camera angles. The tips of the horns look wrong. When it comes crashing down the surface doesn't look like the planetoid we know , though it does appear close and they may yet add texture to it.

More questions than answers I'm glad to say but thats part of the game. The Futures not Perfect.

Moon. It contained not one cringe-inducing moment. The only such new SF film I've seen in decades.

Just wait till I get my hands on the official HD version of the trailer.

It's not as if we know the Jockeys don't practice mass production. It could easily be another ship of the same type. I rather hope it is; making it the *exact same* ship is kind of a Star Wars minimalist approach to prequels. Are there parents of the Nostromo crew on board the human ships? Let's hope not.

Just watched the trailer 10 times and am now excited about this. It has the "right" feel to me. Alot of it feels Alien and Giger esque which I'm loving. That Derelict crashing looks cool.
