Riddick, Dahl costume research

My wife is looking to put together a Dahl costume from the new Riddick movie. I recognize a lot of the costuming as being off the shelf clothing. We've already determined that she's carrying a Springfield Armory XD-9 in a Serpa level 2 tactical holster.

What we're wondering is, are the chaps an corset/back support off the shelf items or wardrobe made? They look like production items, but we've not found them for sale online yet.

Can anyone help out in directing our search a bit?

I am stoked about this costume! Most of it will be built in the gym :- ) I'm wondering if the chaps are motocross gear - ? Once I see more back views of the vest / corset I will decide if it's something I can tackle or if I should commission it. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated!
