I've heard of this kit but I don't know what the different characteristics of them? Can someone post images? :cheers :thumbsup Thanks

I think Rick's first sculpt was based on the wrong steyr reciever, so it was frikkin' huge.

Later sculpts I think he toned down the size quite a bit after learning it was the .223 reciever. I do believe this is the PKDII.

Folks can correct me if I am wrong, and I'm sure they will. :)

The characteristic differences seem to deal with size, and I think he attempted to make the second PKD more accurate in the details too.

He did amazing work, that Rick Ross fellow. :thumbsup

Style is something few replicators manage to give their pieces, but the RR blaster has it in buckets, and it manages to evoke the movie blaster in a very satisfactory way even now that so much more is known about the original.

I agree. They are still great looking blasters, and you couldn't be more right about the style factor. :love

i've got a rick ross i believe.

It's the only pkd blaster i've ever seen in person besides the snub nose. It is a big pistol. I'm not sure which version I have but it doesn't look like the picture posted above. The trigger guard is closer to the triggers then depicted in the picture above. On the right side of the receiver it says PK-D has some katakana underneath and then in small caps says 'police special'. To the right of that it says compton division 2015 with some katakana above that as well as some kanji.

On the other side of the reciever, it has a serial number towards the end of the barrel and then it says 'pflager - katsumata series D' a bit above the laser pointer.. i'm trying to find pics i have stashed somewhere.

The SS# reads 064010011
and above the triggers it says PNKPGCC97 (the 'n' is backwards) like a Russian 'N'.

I'm assuming it's an earlier Rick Ross, Anyone confirm this for me?

I'm about to tear this build down and repaint everything. The grips are dark because I painted the other side flat black with the intention of stripping away parts in an effort to create the 'tortise shell' look but still haven't gotten around to it.

It's the same as the top picture of my last post, that's a PKD1 it just has a different paintjob.

doh you're right, serves me right for responding before all of the images load.

I'm cryin' for ya. :cry

That's a beauty. I'm still amazed at the details he got right just from studying the film, originally from the VHS version correct?

man-o-man always wanted one of these.

I love the RR designs. I hope that one day I will be able to have one in my collection. John, no comment on you selling your piece ;)

I have one of these that I got in the mid 90's.

I remeber how cool the amber grips where the first time I saw them. Have to dig it up and clean it up.

Great kit.

Does anybody out there happen to have a scan of the assembly instructions for this?

Feel free to PM.

Thanks,
Bruce

I have a couple of the big guys in my collection. I love them. Also the Doppleganger snub is a sweet piece.

Can't find my instructions, but I just sold my PKD-II on eBay a few days ago.

Here's what I have for the LED's anyway..
I never got any instructions with mine...
I found these somewhere...hope they help.

Thanks Sporak. That is exactly what I needed. Most of the kit is pretty self-explanatory, but I'm a little wary of electronic stuff.

:cheers

That was one of my first real prop replica kits I did. I spent a LOT of time on the prep work making sure it was perfect. :) Clean castings and great design work. I've got pics of mine around some where, I'll see if I can dig 'em up.

What an awesome piece.

Here are a few pics of Rick Ross' PKD i saved years ago.

Original PKD

PKD II
[attachmentid=10474]
[attachmentid=10476]

PKD III (Owned one of these at one time. IMHO, better looking w/o the butt plate, makes it look longer and sleeker)

PKD Snub

I have the full set of directions in a PDF. Shoot me a PM if you need them.
