Rick Grimes and Maggie Green Season 3/4 - New Pics!

Hey guys,

Been slowly piecing together a Rick Grimes, from Season 3 of the Walking Dead. I have a party this Saturday, November 2nd.

Haven't done a full suit up with the stained shirt, full belt rig, watch, painted gun, etc.

But in a nutshell. I made the holster from scratch, stamped, sewed and dyed that bad boy.

The gun was 3D printed, totally just a prop, not functional of course, will replace with air-soft afterwards.

Jeans are slim boot cuts by Levi's.

Shirt is Aeropostle, that I color removed, re-dyed, then stained with grime and blood.

Boots are vintage cowboy boots.

Belt is a Basket Weave Sam Browne Belt with handcuff case, speed loader pouches, and belt keepers.

Watch is some cheap stainless thing, but looks pretty close to ricks.

I will post completed pics of the costume after tomorrow. I also did Lori Grimes for my fiancé and will have pics of that too.

Hey guys,

So I decided to upgrade my gun before debuting this at it's first convention, MegaCon.

I did the whole buy two airsofts to replace the handle to something more accurate.

Here are some pics. First shows both, then the completed swap, and lastly a comparison to the one Rick uses on the show. I'm quite happy.

Mad props on the holster! Especially making it from scratch!! :thumbsup I tried before...it was sh*tty.
As for the python that's exactly what I did...great minds think alike eh? haha.
Next costume you should tackle is the scientist guy and rock the mullet lol jk

I know it's been a little bit (6 years) but I've been searching for rick's holster for 6 months and I can't find anything. I'm a new fan and I think all the basketweave holsters got snatched up 5 years ago when the show was still new. But I guess what I'm asking is, would you be willing to help a fellow cosplayer out and make another holster just like yours? It looks awesome and you can name a price.

Hi, these holsters were sold by Tex Shoemakers until 2017 when they sadly had to close their doors after 81 years! Anyways, your best bet would be Ebay or if you happen to know someone who has one, you could always offer up to trade something else for it

Thanks for your reply. I've been scouring eBay with no luck so far, the best I could find was a non-swivelling Tex shoemaker holster close to screen accurate, and I was thinking of either getting a safariland swivel and merging the two or making the swivel/belt part from scratch. I think that would be the best bet. We have real strict gun laws in Australia (particularly with handguns) so I don't think the trade option would go well. You wouldn't happen to know anywhere I can dig one up from do you?

They like to pop up from time to time. There was one up last month for a while, but since they are so sought after you've gotta be quick when one pops up. I don't think you would have any problems trading if you are in Australia to be honest. I sent you a private mesasage
