revision of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

I purchased a blank book from Il Papiro and have started with fate of Atlantis (comic version but also with game pendant) and will then move onto Thunder in the Orient and might fight in a few small comic stories if I have the space. There's a LOT of travel in fate of Atlantis but also room to but some interesting diagrams etc with lost Mayan ruins, Knossos in Crete and even more in Thunder in the orient. But its taking time to do. Finding period correct ephemera to fit into the stories can be a bit of a challenge.

Here are a few of the pages I've done so far. It's all hand written and I'll add genuine inserts where possible.

I’m really interested in seeing what you assemble for Thunder in the Orient, as that was a comic I was not sure how best to include.

I'm starting with Ras Shamra/Ugarit (not Bas Shamra) in Syria. Indy is excited to be invited to this dig so I'll have him write up notes in anticipation of going there and reviewing what he knows. The dig was covered extensively in the magazines of the period. - there are also actually textual mistakes in this section of the story I found - Indy should head to Aleppo (not Tripoli) before going on to Afghanistan via Baghdad and Basra and Delhi, India. I'll include the story plot and a few letters sent to Indy (one from the French dig director there - Claude Schaeffer and another from Brody). There's actually a lot to unpack in these comics and a lot of research to be done to make it look semi real.

Indy travels more than anyone else on the planet I think!

Here's what I've been working on and finally finished! It's an invented inscription for the Stele "The Mystery of Mt. Sinai" book. The book has its shortcomings but I found it fun and its one of a limited number of adventures during the early 40s. I pulled all the references to the inscription from the book, then cobbled together material to match, pulling from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, and specific sources for explanations on how the ancient Egyptians depicted foreign lands and gods. I had to teach myself basic ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics and Mayan Glyphs. I tried to make the Mesopotamian king look like he was done in the style of a Maya carving and I included a reference to the crystal skull "inter-dimensional beings" since it seemed appropriate. I will be working to make it a complete page and likely post that but I wanted to share what I have. If anyone here is better with the relevant ancient languages, please let me know if I've made any mistakes!

that is a lovely and convincing drawing. I've just started looking at Egyptian and Maya for another short set of script I need for an indy diary I'm writing. It's not easy. I will now have to read the mount Sinai novel.
