Reves Superman suit which options do I have???

Hey Douglas,

so I´m also in with my order and payment sent to Sebastián. So let that wonderfull Superman suit start and I know that this will come out absolutly great.

Greetings Guido

Guido, how's your project coming? It took me a while to get my measurements in - I sent them over the weekend. I'll be sending my S logo in today.

- Douglas

Hey Douglas,

everything is fine and Camila and Sebastian are absolutly friendly and super fast in answearing any of my emails. They have all my measurements now for a litle bit over one week so what should I say now I have to wait till tey could show me the first items lol.

Greetings Guido

Bumping this thread.

Guys any updates on your costumes? I'd be interested to see what you end up with.

:thumbsup

I am a proud owner of one of the Southern Wings CKing suits, and I have to say I'm totally in love with it. It's just great. I'm not nearly as stacked as Christopher Reeve was when he did the first two movies, but the cut of the suit, and the lines on the S make even me look pretty good in it :)

I feel weird for wearing out such a display quality piece, but I always get such great reactions from it that it all seems worthwhile.

Huge thanks to CKing for putting so much time, energy, and passion into the patterning of that suit. It's a real beauty.

This thread totally inspired me to finally put the finishing touches on my Reeve costume, so I just purchased the boots from Southern Wings today. It'll be about a month before I get them, but I'm stoked!

Thanks for all the great talk and motivating pictures. Now all I need to do is gain about 20 lbs of muscle, and I'll be all set!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.................................

Got my suit today and what should I say that suit is absolutly top work in every way wonderfull at every centimeter and perfectly sewn together. I´m just so lucky that I could not find the right words. Everything is absolutly fantastic also the boots are a dream.

I will have pics up in the next 2 days as I´m waiting on my perfectly manequin.

Greetings Guido

That's awesome, Guido!

The color is spot-on to Chris King's? I'd love more info on your mannequin, if you found an ideal one!

I was late getting my boot order and measurements in, so it'll be a few weeks yet before my completed suit arrives... Thanks for jacking up the anticipation factor!

- Douglas

Hey Douglas,

no problem this here is the manequin I like to use with my suit only in skin color as the white that you see in the pic.

It´s absolutly not easy to find a manequin with closed hands so this was the only one I could find in the pose I like to get.

Greetings Guido

Glad you like your suit Guido. Their work quality is superb isn't it.

What are the measurements for that mannequin? (Chest size, waist size, height etc).

Look forward to seeing pics of your display.

Chris

Chris, do you remember where your mannequin came from?

I'm looking into sources now, but you and Guido are both overseas - that may make your suppliers prohibitively expensive for me in the US. Still, any info would be appreciated!

- Doug

Hi Doug,

My mannequin came from the USA. Here's the website:

http://www.vaudevillemannequins.com/

I went for the "Six6 - One" in flesh color. It's actually a Six foot Six inch mannequin (if it had a head) but the sizing of the upper body is perfect. The legs could benefit from being slightly more bulky though.

Guys, there are sites online where you can order just mannequin parts, like arms and fists...

Don't let that stop you from getting a good looking body, and picking up the arms and hands later on.

You will probably have to mod out the mannequin either way (foam for bulk, etc) so you will want to do that to the arms as well.

Gotta say, everything in this thread is great :D

Can't wait to see the costume pics Guido!!!
Chris

Guys - if you want to go for an accurate build, here's a couple of overall measurements.

Height = 6ft 4 inches.
Chest = 46 inches.
Waist = 34 inches.
Inseam = 35-36 inches.

Chris

Hey all,

only a short preview as Yes it´s not a good manequin because that one has not the correct measurements but it shows the super nice suit:

The only problem I have in the moment I have no idea how the cape comes on the suit Chris could you maybe help me with that???

Greetings Guido

Looking good, Guido!

If it works the same as the earlier Southern Wings capes (and the original Reeve cape), the straps go over the shoulders, under the armpits, and tie/hook in the back between the shoulder blades. Put it on before the suit, basically.

- Douglas

Looks awesome!!!!

And yea, the cape is sort of odd. It's the same for the costumes from virtually all the superman movies and tv shows though. Belts over the arms, buckle in the back, and zip up the tunic.

I think redboots.net (or .com) has some pics of Dean Cain with the cape on, but tunic pulled down.
