Resurrect Firefly?

You certainly can't stop the signal! :) An amazing show with an amazing cast!!! I certainly would want more of this........huge fan of the show. Thanks for the links

I don't see it happening. People said the same thing about the film, but it didn't do nearly well enough. Despite all the people supporting it, they were apparently the only ones to actually go see it.

Well...yeah!

In any case, for all the fan's sakes, why not? We can always hope! :)

And to think Firefly was originally slated to run seven years!

I love Firefly, but I have conficting feelings on this topic.

On one hand, I always want more Firefly goodness! However, I worry that if it was resurrected, it might not stay true to its origins and drive the show into the mud :cry

Although, as long as Nathan is at the helm, I have faith that things will turn out well. :thumbsup

Ive showed my support! Only watched it for the first time last year (the whole series) and got hooked! Lets hope theres more in the future..a great cast and show

Good point. It's Joss Whedon's crazy sense of humor that made a huge difference, too. We don't need some chump rewriting the characters, dialogues, etc.

Yeah, you guys may be right. Back in 1999 we all wanted a fourth Star Wars movie as well. Remember when more or less EVERYBODY universally adored Star Wars? Maybe the best thing is to let this rest...

^I hear you and think you would be 100% corect if we were talking about Star Wars or Indy, however were not. Let's be honest, while fun to watch...nothing groundbreaking or truly great about the show. I'm a fan, but in my opinion, what is there to screw up after the movie?

The way I see it, if it is rebooted...we may actually see some improvment and end up with a far better show.

Well, I think Star Wars was Awesome. Back then it was just Star Wars. No Empire or Jedi or any trilogy, no prequels and bad, bad writing. The Star Wars universe is awesome and I am enjoying the Clone Wars series to a certain degree.

Firefly is just pure genius and it was too short lived. As long as we can have the same writers and the same Firefly, I will be happy to see more. I mean, come on, Battlestar Galactica was pure win! I for one am looking forward to Blood and Chrome as long as it's more BSG and nothing like Caprica. Bad writing just kills good universes.

Besides Joss and the writers it was Nathan Fillion that made Firefly to what we all know and love.
So if Nathan will be the captain again and maybe the rest of the cast would be in too i´d love to see it happen again although i clearly understand your concerns.

I REALLY hope it could be like the old Firefly... Never give up, never surrender! (Ups, wrong flick...)

I actually think Firefly is more entertaining than either of those franchises. It's not super original or anything, but neither were they. It was the writing, cast, and chemistry. I've never seen a show or movie as an adult with a cast I CARED for like Firefly. I just got totally emotionally entangled with them. That's not something that happens to me when I watch TV. Firefly was lightning in a bottle.

A few years back someone had a plan in motion with an independent budget for a second film which would have lead into a second and third season of Firefly (once Fox's hold was up) and then one more film to finish it off. Seemed Nathan and Alan were aboard but Joss couldnt be bothered with it being head over heals with Wonder Woman at the time.

IF it could happen, I'd be all for it but, honestly, those news stories about what Fillion said are just lame. That'd be like me saying "if I won the lottery, I'd buy a mansion, Ferrari and also start dating Natalie Portman" and somebody posting it like "Rob is planning to start dating Natalie Portman!"

It's just a massive hypothetical "if"... I hope people aren't actually thinking he COULD do it even if he had $300 million. Fox probably wouldn't sell the rights and even if the stars aligned, Fillion got the rights AND reunited the cast AND the writers, Whedon is still committed to directing Avengers which I'm sure will have him tied up until half-way through 2012. And Firefly would not be the same without Whedon behind it.
