Resident Evil Virus Display by HCG

Looks like we got another small but essential movie prop piece from the friendly folks over at Hollywood Collectibles Group. The Resident Evil T-Virus and Anti-Virus vials.

LINK

Some nice features on these. Aluminum casing with plexiglas and LEDs so that the vials can be independently illuminated.

But the big down side? $200! Wow. And I thought the $250 Fifth Element stones was pricy. Still, since the design of these vials have sort of been implements into the official games, it does make getting one tempting. What do you folks think?

The price is high, but it is acceptable to me and ok for the quality prop. I think they will sell all sets fast enough. I am curious about the spirals in the vials! Are they filled with the liquid or it is just transparent vinyl tubes? In case with the liquid I have a question: Will it evaporate with time? I have a similar set from a small FX company of course with out leds (if I remember right, I paid $150) and both vials lost 3/4 of liquid in the one year. The guys from the company promissed to replace it but I got nothing. If the HCG vials made in the same manner, then of course the price is too high.

I like it and most like will buy it. I've always liked the ones I've seen that come in the glass toped case, but I like the idea that they light up. I guess I could always by a case for them later on.

I'm totally in for these! :love The fan made ones go for the $100-$200 mark anyways, and they dont light up or have display stands.

I also had a set of liquid vials and after a year or so, the liquid evaporated, which was one of the reasons I decided to sell it off and took a loss on it. For the price, I think that it's decent, given that you get the Umbrella base and light up LEDS.

For this prop, I'm hoping they are acrylic spirals. I got a custom Red Virus that was made out of acrylic and not only is the color a nice dark red, but it will last forever, unless you drop it and break it. I liked the liquid virus' at first, but after the liquid evaporation and having it replaced twice by the prop maker, it was not worth the hassle.

I can't wait to see what else HGC releases with their Resident Evil line.

I'm going to regret this.

ORDERED

But I will NOT accept these as replicas from the first movie, but from the games. That is not the Anti-Virus, it's the G-Virus!

Anti-Virus? The only Anti-Virus in Resident Evil are herbs!

I like it. Especially with a light up feature. I'd like to get more RE items from the movie. A statue of Milla as Alice from any of the movies. Her costumes as always interesting.

Ooooh, check out the sneak peek!

It's funny but the light up feature is one of the things I like least about these. They look great and I like the logo base... just think the LED lighting is a bit cheesy.

Well, the liquid has partially evaporated from my vials too, and they don't have the excellent cheesy lighting; so -

ORDERED! :D

And thanks for the tip!

If they weren't 200.00 I'd get them no questions asked that just seems way too expensive to me. I love the movies and games and this would be perfect for my display of post apocalyptic goodies.

Actually, 200.00 is a very reasonable price. Have you ever seen what they go for on Ebay with the case? They can be anywhere from 150.00 and up, depending on what you get with it. So, I've already ordered mine.

I'm not pointing the finger at you, but it always seems like people are complaining about how much a licensed replica costs as compared to buying a non-licensed copy or doing it themselves. I'm always willing to pay more for a licensed replica if it a a quality piece, although that does not always happen.
