Resident Evil Afterlife: Alice's Holster Rig

Here are some pictures of the Resident Evil Afterlife holster rig that I was commissioned to make for RPF member agirlcalledbob for Dragon*Con.

I had reference pictures from the prop auction of the screen used item, which I will post here for reference. The whole rig is made from 7-8 ounce vegetable tanned leather, a conway buckle, and brass screw rivets. Stitching was done with my industrial sewing machine with nylon thread.

Leather was treated with neatsfoot oil, and then dyed with a mixture of two dyes to get the right coloring to the reference images. After final fitting, I will be adding 2 - 3 more layers of sealer to all of the leather to prevent it from bleeding if it gets wet.

I will have better images of her wearing it with the full costume after Dragon*Con taken with my real camera vs phone pictures.

Nice holster, but you gotta work on the ass she has! :) It looks great though... The holster!

I'm the lucky lady who gets to wear this amazing piece of leather. dwrd is doing an amazing job on this rig, pictures don't do it justice.

With the holster rig added to her, Alice is looking better than I had hoped. Thanks to Laura's beautiful bodice (Aradani Studios) and dwrd's holster rig, Alice will be ready to slaughter some zombie butt should we be invaded at D*C.

Still on my to-do list is to weather the bodice, paint the shotguns (primered in the pic) and "scabbard", and get the pleather wrap for the bracers... and continue to p90x the hell out of myself for the next 26 days.

Really nice costume. Should be a contest winner.

The holster rig looks awesome. :D I know a bunch of friends who do "Resident Evil" costumes who would drool over this too, so great job. :)

agirlcalledbob: The costume looks great. :) I wish I could see it in person at Dragon*Con, but I look forward to more pictures. :)

First off that looks Bad Ass! My wife wants me to make her that costume. May I ask where you got the vest or bodice? I went to that site and couldn't find it? Is it a one off custom?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Psycho! Both the holsters and bodice were custom commissions.

Laura at Aradani Studios made the bodice based off a handful of pictures that were released by July (there are a ton out there now, lol). I've seen Aradani's work at Dragon Con the last few years and have always been impressed. Even though we did everything via email it was very seamless. I can't say enough good things about Laura's work on this piece :)
