Just wondering what everyone thought the best paint would be to repaint the chest/helmet with? Since the helmet is slightly flexible I was just wondeirng what the best brand would be. I was thinkig plastikote or rustoleum. I've used duplicolor in the past but dont know if I want to go with it or not. Thoughts?

When I paint stuff I like to use the brand from Lowes called American Traditions by Valspar. It is a nice paint that goes on smooth and dries smooth. I have used it on most of my projects. I did a Rubies TIE helmet I redid and the guy who has it loves it. I am using this paint on two Clone Trooper Helmets I am working on.

I do not like Krylon paints or anything from Wal-Mart. The only thing from Wal-Mart I like is the generic paint which I use the flat White or Black as a primer.

Duplicolor was tricky for me on the rubies Vader, and it still didn't come out perfect. You really have to put it on thick - which is so hard to do without getting waves or worse, drips. I'm an impatient person, and my first project was repainting my friend's rubies Vader. It was completely and utterly frustrating, I literally went through about a dozen cans of gloss black Duplicolor trying to get it perfect.

We both plan on working on it again sometime down the road, I'll have to try and remember Valspar :)
