Started this as a birthday present for a good friend of mind, What good is being a propmaker if you can't hook your boys up right? This was finished quite a few months ago but have only managed to put a writeup together.
Anyways this started as most of these builds do..Bluprints. I used what best source material I could find. On one hand that is very few full shots that exist of the prop, on the other it is based of a real world gun so I used the best of both to get what I feel is one of the best things I've ever done. I started off with the best pic of the Prop I could find.

Then made a vector bluprint. I opted out of including the scopes. I wasn't planning on scratchbuilding them since e-11 kits are so available. I picked up mine from Darth Vorhees
Cut out and ready for transfer

I started with the stock and main body, using the template and various thicknesses of mdf i built up and shaped the layers.

The barrel was made with 3 different thicknesses of pvc and abs. I stacked these to form the 3 steps in the barrel, the taper was done with bondo. The scopes arrived midway through the barrel being done. Here is a mockup before i moved on to sealing everything in.

Oh!! It has a moving trigger, made using the tried and true method. Pen Springs!!

Sealing in all the elements. Its starting to look like a blaster!

I did the wood grain with a mix of brown acrylics and enamels. I used a chopped up chip brush to make little grooves in the pain similar to wood. After that had settled I gave it a wash of black to bring out the details. Then it went to live at its new home.
There is a few things I want to point out. This is about 90% accurate. I opted out of doing the waffle grips based on pure time restraints. He is going to be using this for trooping so its not going to be a huge deal. It is also missing the leather strap which is being put on very soon.
BUT...Thanks a Photographer friend of mine Mark Edwards we managed to finally get some shots of the completed rifle.

This was a ton of fun to build. There tons more to come in 2014! Thanks for checking it out!

heres a bonus to get all your blood pumping...:lol
