Recaster Alert Supernatural Colt

Looks like I got recast again. He's not only recast my Colt but it looks like he's got recasts of Gordon Gekko's grapple gun as well.

So how do we report this piece of crap thief to the mods before he rips someone else off.

Somebody needs to alert Joe and Shawn. just looked at there oblivion pistol sale thread. I think he's ordered a pistol from them too.
 
Just for the record.

I still have my Colt, unpainted as most of my stuff is.
I also still have a terribly bent Colt I bought off eBay, which as why I replaced it with Oz's.

And, I was on the list for a GG Grapple, I love them, but had to pull out and lost my deposit, check with him.
 
Sorry, my post was aimed at the OP, if that wasn't clear. Serious accusations like this need to be backed by evidence. Calling someone out for recasting should be substantiated. The OP was pretty vague in his claims.

This showed up on eBay: Supernatural The Colt Movie Prop Model Kit | eBay

It's not Ozy selling it. The auction states "DISPATCH TIME: This item is made to order and requires a 10 day lead time, if you require your item urgently please contact me before placing your bid."

If it's not one Ozy cast, then if it takes 10 days to make then someone is running a copy of his Colt.

Maybe check shipping records to find out who it definitely is.

man, that is lame. Love that colt. a pile of work must have went into it. really lame that there are recasters. If it were a screen used item that's one thing but the colt from what i remember was all the OP's sweat. If dude is indeed recasting, justice must be served. people will think twice before sharing their work with the public. I'm saving up dough for the oblivion pistol and hope that doesn't get recast either. pile of work went into that as well.

catch the offending party and bring the ban hammer.
 
The list of suspects is pretty narrow considering that he is the ONLY person outside the US to have gotten one. At all. As in he possesses the one and only copy in that entire hemisphere.

The rest of you guys are already finding the rest of the pattern.

He actually gave me his address yesterday for a shipping quote, and that address is not it. But he could have an office address perhaps. Anything is possible.
Oz... did you pull your records to compare address?

Ok, this might clear things up for the accused.
In the thread link you provided, people say they know who it is:

"The folks on the Dredd facebook list are fairly sure that this account is one of several in use by the same person. They seem sure about whom it is (a well-know recaster that frequents cons in the UK), talking about it openly, but I don't want to condemn anyone prematurely."

"Yes I too, know this individual, and it does appear nothing is sacred ,the casts aren't too shabby ,but that's not the point ,he's re-casting and that is avery definite no-no"

So maybe contact those who know the person and see if this confirms or clears the accused.
If it does clear them, I suggest a BIG apology for jumping the gun ;)
 
I would be one of the first in in line to apologize. but with what the OP said. If It's not him. then a gun would have had to been shipped from the state's right?
 
Well, the person linked in the Ebay auctions is selling a recast of my grapple.

However, the accused did not buy a grapple from me. He backed out of his own accord. And as far as I know he is in Leeds, not London.

I hate recasters as much as anyone, but we also have to do all the legwork when accusing someone. I still haven't seen a definite link between the accused and the ebay recaster. Someone's recasting, but I don't know who.
 
Absolutely not trying to be a pot-stirrer, but just because the recaster is in England doesn't mean the gun went straight there from Oz directly. I mean, I bought a Colt kit, but I have friends in London. A couple of which work with silicone mold-making and resin and sell resin items in their online shops. So what, in theory, would stop me, someone from California, from sending it to one of my friends over there to cast and sell?

And Oz, I'm new, so didn't know that you were dealing with the medical issues that you are. I've had friends and family members go through chemo and have seen bad reactions firsthand, so I'm very sorry for the pain and sickness that you had to deal with, no one deserves to suffer through that. Then to discover that you were being recast in the same week, after all of the work that I read about you getting these made, must have just compounded everything. :(
