If the glass is that fragile, might be better to make these out of a clear resin. I think the metal parts design were originally there probably for structural integrity had they made them for some scenes.
A clear plastic key is already available. The whole point is to make it from glass.
Could those be made out of plexiglass?
Crystal is a more durable material to glass.

The method I’m using here, is called sand casting glass, it is very hard to get the surface clean and crisp on sand casting. This type of manufacturing is expensive but I’m satisfied with the outcome.
I’ll show detailed pictures when it comes back from post processing.
So will you be using Swarovski style lead glass (= crystal) or regular glass (like for windows and stuff)?
How fragile will your keys be?
