In my opinion these books are the best for color representation and the dressing the galaxy book is the closest to my neoprene that Yvonne had made. Plus I prefer those colors the best out of all the reference photos
Well, my plan was to make resin castings, clean them up, make new molds and then cast them in fiberglass but I'm running out of time so I figured I'd just make them in urethane resin and see how they hold up at CIV.
Any chance to let us sculpting noobs in onto the secrets of "fixing the crooked lines" ?
I guess that you just take some filler and then go about sanding everything that is not straight ? I.e. make one "rough" mold, then a master that is cleaned up and then make another mold ?
This blaster project is finally coming to fruition!!!!
They are complete with lights and sounds. The barrels are CNC machined aluminum. I made the handles and detail bits out of resin.
This is the first five assembled with electronics. I have 5 more to build with electronics for people. The sounds are awesome. It sounds just like Zam's blaster in the movie ... which coincidentally is the same sound as the tie fighter .. I believe.
We have placed more pictures of the Zam in the gallery on this website: www.FarAwayCreations.com
