RC Blockade Runner

After a long time I finally managed to get the pics of my Blockade Runner in shape to share them with you. I'm very pleased how the kit turned out. Thanks to Randy Cooper for this excellent piece - I very much look forward to his Star Destroyer...

The model has lights in all the engines and some LEDs&fiberoptics in the cockpit - although the camera seems not to be able to capture this - I have to get a new one some day.

That looks great- I saw the 6 foot one here in Texas about 3 weeks ago and yours looks just like it--sans the miniaturized playboy centerfold and Star Wars poster in the cockpit though!

I did know that there was a SW poster in it, but not about the PB one. Could be an easy fix, as the cockpit is removable :)

I was told by an ILMer that the SW Poster wasn't added until the ship was re-decorated for ROTJ. The playmate was the only poster in the cockpit for SW.

Does anybody have a link to a pic that shows the cockpit with the PB poster (and the SW poster, as I can't seem to find it in my pics).

Thanks
Tobias

If I recall, there is a fuzzy pic of it in the SW to Indy book. You can definitely make out the poster in there. :)

Hi guys, I have this kit also. It can produce a fantastic end product, but I gotta tell ya, this is not a kit for the faint hearted. This is most certainly not for the inexperienced modeller. There is a ton of trimming, sanding filling and replacing bits on this kit. This may not be the case for everyone who has it, but my kit is gonna take me literally hours and hours to properly assemble.

I'm not knocking the kit whatsoever, I'm just trying to save some of you guys from a very disappointing experience if you are comparing it to, say a TIE or XWing kit of any sort. This thing not only has alot of prep necessary, but also it has literally tons of individual parts which have to be assembled extremely carefully in order to achieve a symmetrical build.

I'm really looking forward to completing it but here is just an example of how tough mine has been so far........just on the section which holds the escape pods..............this portion of the body is basically in two halves.............I spent the better part of 4 hours saturday adjusting that section so the two halves would fit together more or less flush. There is still gonna be a ton of filling and sanding and re-sculpting certain details.

Dave :)

Tobias, your build is absolutely wicked! I love it. Too bad I didn't have the funds to pick this one up at the time.
