Hey everyone,

I’m on the hunt for a pretty unique Greedo mask that’s popped up a few times on WorthPoint over the years. It’s not your usual Don Post or Rubie’s style — this one’s made from thicker, tougher latex, and it looks more solid and distinct. From what I’ve heard, it might’ve been made by a small Australian studio back in the ’80s, but I haven’t found any solid proof yet.
I don’t own one yet, but I’d really like to get my hands on one someday because I’m genuinely interested in its backstory and what makes it special.

I’ve seen some sellers mention it came from Australia, and I know Rancho Obi-Wan has one in their collection. David Zaritsky also mentioned he owns one, so these masks definitely exist and are valuable pieces.

If anyone knows who made these masks, if the studio is still around, or can help me find one, I’d really appreciate it. And if someone’s willing to sell one, I’m seriously interested and would love to buy at a fair price.

Any info or tips would be a big help, and thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some real assistance.

I've been thinking more about this mask. the way it's sculpted and how thick the latex is makes me think it wasn't mass-produced, but maybe part of a small run or local project.
It really stands out from the usual Don Post versions.
Has anyone ever seen a Greedo like this pop up at conventions, collector groups, or private trades? I'd really love to hear any theories or leads.
Still very much hoping to get one someday if someone is willing to sell.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any new information about the masks. I'm afraid the name of the studio and the history of the Greedo mask will forever remain a mystery to me. :(

my initial reaction to a 1990's Australian Star Wars mask/helmet studio would be Altmann's Armor. They did a whole host of licensed helmets and while it doesn't look identical, those AtAt/Tie helmets do bare a passing resemblance to the sculpts that Altmanns used to sell. I've not heard if they ever did latex pieces, they certainly didn't when they had the official license but hey, its possible.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I haven't found much information about the studio, but from what I have found, there is a really big similarity. I still really hope that one day I will be able to find out the origin of the mask. Do you know more about the studio, or someone who does?
