R2 frame swap

Thought you guys might like to see:

I'm disassembling my 1:1 working R2 unit in order to swap out his PVC/sintra chassis (frame) and replace it with an aluminum version. I'm also doing a complete overhaul on the wiring harness and computer system, and replacing all remaining resin detail pieces with aluminum ones. I'll use the sintra chassis for an R5 droid project I am working on.

What are you doing with all the spare resin parts that you're replacing? Are all of them going into your R5?

I am definitely nuts.

All the resin pieces that come off of R2 will go onto R5, yes.

They will both eventually have the retractable center leg and do the 2-3-2 automated conversion.

Probably not in time for DragonCon this year, though.

Definitely by C4.
