Died a couple of days ago at age 70 of cancer. The Canadian born actor was in such films as The Flim-Flam Man, The Gumball Rally, They Shoot Horses Don't they? He would have had the lead Role of Buck, in Midnight Cowboy, but a Contract with another studio prevented him from taking the role that made Jon Voight famous, Contrary to other stories, he did not turn the role down.

Sorry to hear this.

He was terrific as the Creature in "Frankenstein: The True Story." Ditto "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud."

RIP

The Gumball Rally. Always good for a laugh.

So many in that movie that are dead. Sarazzin, Norman Burton, Vaughn Taylor, Steven Keats, Tim McIntire, and Raul Julia. Gary Busey still kicking though.

Gumball Rally = intellectual Cannonball Run. I'm waiting for a Hollywood Remake of these BTW.

:(

Frankenstein: The True Story scared the crap out of me as a kid.

Yeah, the ballroom "be-heading"was pretty strong stuff for 70's network television.

F:TTS (with a teleplay by Christopher Isherwood, no less) remains one of the best, and certainly most literate, adaptations of the Frankenstein legend. And that cast! Sarrazin, David McCallum, James Mason, Jane Seymour (her first role), Agnes Moorehead, Ralph Richardson, John Gielgud...

It's a pity so few have seen it.
