R.I.P. Larry Drake

Actor Larry Drake passed away today at 66 years old. I remember him from a few of his roles, including Darkman and Dr. Giggles. R.I.P. good sir.

Loved him in L.A. Law too. This years sucks...... Way wayctoo many great performers leaving us..... I DONT LIKE IT!!

I'm having beer tonight. I would have one for all my heroes who have been taken this year but I cant drink that much.

You get a like for being politically incorrect in referencing him on LA Law. Apparently using that word is bad which is news to me since it was a medical term. I barely remember LA Law as it was on after my bedtime but I remember him from the commercials for it. Honestly playing someone with mental health issues has to be the hardest job an actor can get, you don't want to just be a stereotype but you want it to be believable and he did it well.

The giggle in Dr Giggles disturbed me, it still haunts me to this day.

Let's not forget his appearance on "Firefly." One of the better episodes, too.

I read at some point - I hope it's true - that he showed up for his first day of shooting on the LA Law set in character, and it was a while before his costars realized that it was all an act.
