Didn't know he was gay. Guess it's not surprising.

I absolutely loved Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., as a kid! Watched it every day! And speaking of his great voice, I love the episode in which they form a choir, and Sgt. Carter has a horrible voice, but Gomer doesn't have the heart to tell him! lmao

Thanks for all the memories, and rest in peace.

I probably haven't seen the show since I was a kid. Have never really followed his career at all.

How did you guys not know that? I've known that since the '80s.

Not sure. Guess I just missed it.

Yeah wow, didn't know either. Guess half, if not more of Hollywood is gay.

Actor, Kirk Lazarus, agrees.

Always used to watch it as a kid. I didn't know Gomer Pyle was a spin off from The Andy Griffith Show.

Sad News loved him in Andy Griffth and as Pyle.

My best friends Mother went to College with him and said he always sang, pretty neat looking at the yearbook photos of him
