I've just purchased my first airbrush the iwata hp-cp and i'm looking to get a quiet compressor. I've seen some posts about the one on harbor freight but I wanted to see if anyone else could give me some ideas. I need one to be kind of on the smaller side and quiet as this will be going in the bedroom.

Thanks a lot.

SilentAir are the best... it's about as loud as a fridge motor kicking in... If you have a radio on playing at a normal volume, you won't even hear it.

Any one of those listed as "Airbrush Compressors" from Harbor Freight are pretty quiet & would work well for you in your bedroom. I've always had my airbrush set up in my bedroom & do most of my work at all hours of the night while my roommate sleeps just on the other side of the wall and he hasn't complained once yet. I also have my compressor sitting on top of a piece of 2" thick foam to reduce the vibration noise.

I own the model that comes w/ an airbrush (#95630-2VGA). Their dual-action airbrush works ok but doesn't even compare to an Iwata (think "Yugo verses Lexus"). But like I said, any one of those compressors should work out well for you. I ordered my hose & pistol-grip filter from HFT, all of it works great & the airbrush hose came w/ almost every type of fitting adapter you'll need.

Mel had also said she's owned HFT's model# 92403 for 2-3 yrs w/o any problems & also said it was "whisper quiet".

The only other thing about Harbor Freight Tools is to watch for their sale prices. Both online & in-store prices for any item can be quite different, but if you buy in-store they'll ONLY honor the cheaper of the two prices IF you point it out. I've noticed model# 92403 on sale for $35 many times just in the last few months alone. What can I say...I'm a smart #@$&ing shopper, ok!

I think i have the UK equivelant of the Silentair, got it last month and its peeeeeeeeeeeerfect.
