im not a really a full on gamer i usually use my PS3 to watch my Blu ray movies, however im due to have knee reconstruction next week and ive been told for the first 10 to 14 weeks i can not put any wieght at all on my knee, so i guess im going to be pretty bored for a while............

i usually play a game for about an hour or so every couple of weeks so im looking for ideas for a couple of games that will

A/ keep me interested
B/ not stress me out :lol

i have a couple of sports games and i really liked Red Dead redemtion in fact thats the only game i stuck with and finished, definately not into shoot em ups ie killing zombies for hours on end i like story based games

i actually tried out Medal of Honour but it stressed me so much i got rid of it

so i hope ive given enough insight as to my likes and dislikes and hopefully you can suggest a couple of games that will keep me occupied

thanks

Get both Uncharted games, they're must-haves, in my opinion.

If you liked RDR, you'll probably like Grand Theft Auto 4 as well.

If you like platforming games at all, pick up LittleBigPlanet 1 or 2. There's basically an endless amount of levels since you can play community levels as well (although, a lot of them are pretty bad). They're also fun when you have someone with you that can play too.

Good luck, hope you heal quickly!

Simon,
The two that I really get a lot of play out of right now are Borderlands and Fallout New Vegas.
Borderlands can be a blast with a couple of friends as you don't have to play in an open online game, and its limited to 4 players at once.
Cheers,
Jonny
(Jonnyamateur on psn as well :) )

My best suggestion is................... buy an Xbox!!!!:lol

ha ha, only kidding, have you payed Grand theft Auto IV
If not there's plenty of gameplay in that, story based and an excellent game overall!

I liked Red Dead redemption also, not quite finished it yet, got bored to be honest as i am now at Marstons Farm kinda doing random ranch tasks!

My favorites are without doubt the Call of Duty games, but they are shooters and if you didn't like MOH, then i doubt you'd like COD.

I had a PS3 for a while, and do you know a game me and the missus played a lot, Little Big Planet!!! It's great fun!!

Sorry to hear about the knee, wishing you a speedy and relatively pain free recovery!
Mind you gives you plenty of time to get the UK prop meet sorted!!!!

Agreed the Uncharted games are awesome. Amazing environment and gameplay. Also if your looking for a lengthy game might want to try out Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

Isn't Mass Effect 1 and 2 out for the PS3 at this point? I'd say ME1 is definitely worth playing. And it'll take up a good portion of time if you do all the side quests and such. Plus it may give you ideas for new props.

I am a big Ghostbusters fan, so I love the Ghostbusters game. I also like BioShock, Ratchet and Clank, all of the Lego games, Madden, and Gran Turismo.

Do you have Netflix on your PS3?

Do you have the PS3 that is backward compatible? I would recommend Resident Evil 4. ((Yes zombies but a very well made game and storyline) Its the stupid game that got me hooked on gaming 6 months ago......at age 40:lol If not try Bioshock. Its fun switching between the various weapons etc and has a good storyline. Not too violent. I have heard the same rave reviews about Uncharted.

Dead Space and DS2 are very, very entertaining but on the bloody side. Graphics are amazing on a HD setup.

Uncharted 1, 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum are some of the best action games created. But he may have to postpone his surgery to play Arkham City since it's not out yet. ;)

If you like sports, try them out. I recommend MLB series for baseball and 2K series for basketball. NHL and football only have one, but they are both good. I usually get the most play out of sport games.

Oh well with all the countries different release dates for games these days it's hard to keep track of who gets what when. All I know is we are close to last :lol

Netflix and backward compatible ............. i have no idea what this means.. sorry :confused

No idea on Netflix either. But backwards compatable is when your PS3 console has the ability to play also PS2 and PS1 games also. Although as far as I'm aware all the consoles play PS1 games. Over here it is only the "fat" 60Gb consoles that are backwards compatable. So if you have one of the new slim console it won't be.

Ahh ok my PS3 is a big fat console:lol 40gb so i dont think it plays ps2 0r 1

It should be able to play PS1 games as you can get a lot of the classic games from the online store. Kinda only if you've got a real hankering for old school games though.

I'll agree that Borderlands is fun to play co-op (Mad Moxxi's Underdome is frustratingly addictive), and I've also been enjoying Assassin's Creed II 'cos of the mix of free-running, sword fights, casual stabbings (poisoning guards is fun) and the puzzles.

Both Ghostbusters and Arkham Asylum are fantastic games and not too long to finish. Plus, you can probably get them used for pretty cheap these days. I'd list other games, but I'm not sure what's been out for the 360 that's also out for the PS3 (I only have a 360).

The God of War trilogy. GOW 1 and 2 come in a combo pack. I can play those over and over.

Another vote for Uncharted.

Metal Gear 4 was an amazing game. One of the best to come out on the PS3.

And a recent download from the PSN store... Plants vs. Zombies. Good lord it's addictive.
